Does VOXI have 4G Calling in 2021?

Vodafone’s sub-brand VOXI comes with great perks and features, but is 4G Calling one of them? Are there any other call quality improving perks on VOXI?

VOXI is a very popular UK MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) powered and operated by Vodafone. The carrier provides great 4G, 3G and 2G coverage to their customers thanks to Vodafone’s underlying infrastructure. VOXI also has 5G on selected plans, but it’s not available countrywide. VOXI customers enjoy great features that add value to their tariffs such as Endless Video and Endless Social Media. As of April 2021, VOXI offers 4G Calling (also known as VoLTE) at no additional cost. Wi-Fi Calling is also another key feature the network started providing as of late.

All VOXI tariffs are 30 day prepaid SIM only deals, so you will only pay for the cost of your price plan and any extras you choose. You can also buy a handset from VOXI, but you’ll have to undergo a credit check. If you’re only purchasing a SIM only plan, VOXI won’t be asking for a credit check. VOXI’s phone plans are 30-months long, but the carrier allows you to pay larger chunks to cut your contract down. Unfortunately, VOXI’s pay as you go service only works with calls and texts, you can’t use mobile data with it.

All VOXI customers are eligible for VOXI Endless Social Media, a feature that gives the user unlimited data on Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook Messenger. However, voice & video calls are not included, so be careful.

If your price plan comes with 15GB or more data, you’re also given free access to VOXI Endless Video which allows you to stream videos on YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, My5, TVPlayer and UKTV Play without burning through your mobile data.

Just keep in mind that you must have at least some data left in your monthly allowance to get unlimited data via Endless Social Media and Endless Video Pass.

All VOXI SIM only plans that offer 15GB of data or more will get you access to Vodafone 5G at no additional cost. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll get superfast 5G download speeds everywhere in the UK. You must have a 5G ready handset in order to benefit from VOXI 5G, and also be in an area with the network’s 5G service.

Nowadays it’s really easy to switch to a new mobile network in the UK and VOXI is no different. You can keep your phone number when switching to VOXI. If you want to make the switch, all you need to do is get your PAC code from your current network and pass it on to VOXI; they’ll do the rest for you. The whole process shouldn’t take longer than 2 full days. Keep in mind that, while switching to a new mobile carrier is easy, you might still end up having to pay a penalty fee for cancelling your phone contract early. Make sure to discuss everything with your current network before making the switch and ensure you won’t have to pay any unexpected fees.

If you wish to use your mobile device as a personal hotspot, VOXI is again a decent choice. The carrier allows you to tether freely, but as always, we’d like to remind you that you’ll be using a lot more mobile data when you’re tethering to other compatible devices, even if they stay idle. There’s a chance these devices may not be optimised for mobile data usage, or do activities that consume data in the background. We recommend VOXI’s unlimited data plan if you’re planning to tether on a regular basis.
