Latest Offer: 100GB £17.50 p/m!

Tesco Mobile is offering a great deal with 100GB of data for just £17.50 a month w/ Clubcard perks. The O2 powered network offers unlimited minutes & texts, access to 5G and EU roaming at this great price!

Tesco Mobile is a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator), which means the network doesn’t own a wireless network infrastructure, but instead piggybacks on another. Tesco Mobile belongs to the British retailer Tesco, and it uses O2 as its network carrier except in Ireland, where the network is using Three as its provider.

Tesco Mobile launched back on 29th May 2003, and now the network operates in the UK, Ireland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. As of January 2014, the network started to offer a 4G service in the UK. Tesco Mobile also provides 5G coverage in 60 cities and towns across the country. The network’s 5G launched in October 2019.

You can find pay monthly SIM dealspay monthly handset deals and pay as you go tariffs on Tesco Mobile. The carrier’s average 4G download speed is measured at 18Mbps and upload speed is at 6.4Mbps. There are no tests performed on 5G data speeds as of yet, but reports suggest that Tesco Mobile customers get an average of 150Mbps download speeds.

While the mobile network’s members enjoy 5G speeds, they’re unfortunately missing out on voice call quality improving features such as 4G Calling and Wi-Fi Calling. Tesco Mobile customers don’t get to benefit from O2’s free Wi-Fi hotspots either.

If the O2’s coverage is the best that works for you, but you’re not set on Tesco Mobile, you can always check Sky Mobile. It’s also powered by O2, meaning you get the very same coverage. You can read Half Cooked’s Sky Mobile Review to learn more about it!
